Hashtag holidays are a fun way to create content and connect with your audience on social media. Many of these unique holidays existed before social media, but usually, these holidays would come and go without us even realizing. With the rise social media, hashtag holidays have become a popular method of content marketing.
By creating content for a holiday and posting it on social media with the hashtag, you are expanding your reach beyond your existing audience. Your content will be seen by users who look through the hashtag for that holiday, and if you’re participating in the right holidays (we’ll talk more about that), these users are likely to be in your target audience.
Hashtag holidays are a great way to boost your engagement. Be sure to encourage participation in your post – ending your caption with a question is a great way to do this.
The more content you post on social media, the better (generally speaking). But sometimes it can be hard to come up with enough content. Hashtag holidays are perfect for filling in your content calendar!
There are a whole lot of hashtag holidays out there, with more being established regularly. You don’t want to celebrate every single holiday, that would take up your whole feed! Instead, choose 2 to 4 holidays each month to create content around.
